Desire

Desire by Sophia Shuvalova

If desire had a shape, it would be a circle or a sphere because they are so perfect in both their roundness and infinity and the nature of desire is so very prone to idealisation of the desired object. This painting does not go into identifying the desired object, whatever it may be, just its presence. Trapped in a small empty chamber with nothing but desire for company, the figure enters the world of its own abstract subconscious. Acrylic on canvas.
